Bridge The Gap Opening Photos
In case you missed the event and the photos on our Facebook page, here are a few photos from the Pacific Avenue Crossing "ribbon cutting" event, back in December. What a milestone- the gap is bridged, and now it is possible to bicycle the Chehalis-Western Trail from Woodard Bay Wildlife Preserve to Yelm or Tenino without having to cross a major arterial at grade.

Lots of number crunching going on here at BCC Central- and the preliminary results are in- it has been a good year for the BCC! Total participants: 1437 (1018 Mileage Logs returned)

Or, just click the green button at the right, and record your totals online. Those who report online will receive a coupon for $1 off the ticket price for GEARHEADS, an "Adult Swim" event at Hands On Children's Museum.

BCC Nears Close for 2014
Only a few days left in May to ride and record your miles in the 2014 BCC! Get in a few more practical trips before the end of the month if you can, and then return your Mileage Log or record your totals at our online reporting page. You Can Still Participate in the BCC!
All that is required to participate in the Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Contest is to register, ride at least ONCE for practical purposes in May, and return your Mileage Log, or report your participation online. If you do that much, we'll send you an envelope stuffed with coupons and free offers from our awsome sponsors, and enter you to win many excellent prizes, including a brand new bike! There are still almost two weeks left in May, so sign up now and give it a try!

Bike To Work Day a Big Success in Thurston County!
Hundreds of people took to the streets on their bikes in Thurston County to participate in Bike To Work Day. They rode their bikes to work or other destinations, stopped at one or more of several Bike Stations, or participated in sponsored lunch hour bike rides at work. Lacey Bike Fair and Rodeo This Saturday
Lacey Parks and Recreation presents the Lacey Community Bike Fair and Rodeo is this Saturday, May 3rd, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Mountain View Elementary School (1900
College St SE, Lacey). This is a FREE event and registration is the same day. There will be
free helmets, prize drawings, free hotdog lunch for participants, entertainment, arts and crafts, plus much more.

Register for the BCC at Capitol Campus Bike Fair
State
Employees working on or near the East Capitol Campus: there is a
Bicycle Commuter Fair tomorrow from 11-1 in the North lobby of OB2,
ground level. You can register there for the BCC! There will be a bike
fashion show, a representative from local bike shops giving a flat
repair demo, and lots of great info on getting around by bike. Hope to

Bicycle Commuter Contest Participants:
Mechanics from our sponsor bicycle shops will do free safety checks on bicycles that belong to Commuter Contest participants. This is a basic safety check. The idea is to determine if your bike is safe to ride in the Thurston County Bicycle Commuter Contest for the month of May. If your bike needs major repairs or parts, you will be referred to a local bike shop. We will not have spare parts or inner tubes on hand. If you bring the parts your bike needs, we MAY be able to install them.
Bring your bicycle to the Olympia Transit Center Friday, April 25
between 7 am & 3 pm, and pick it up by 5 pm
One bike per participant, please. To have your bike checked in, you have to register for the contest in advance or in person at the event. Space is limited so first come, first served- hope to see you Friday!
